Respect

Respect
Respect. What is respect? Well, the dictionary says that respect is a deep admiration for someone's abilities, qualities, or achievements, but it can also mean just being kind to someone even if they have opposing viewpoints, beliefs, ideals, morals, etc.
Respect should be a quality in everyone, or everyone should at least try to respect each other. Some people may find it difficult to respect someone they may have been raised to hate, or found themselves hating, or at least disliking, whether it’s a group of people, or a single person. Respect could help so many fights, and arguments be avoided. Maybe it could even keep wars from happening, but people are so different, war, and fights are unfortunately inevitable, but with one-on-one fights, respect can make all the difference.
Especially on the internet, or through social media, you may hear about all these fights between people going on, or you yourself have had a fight with someone online. I myself have fought people online, but I try my best to respect the others opinion or belief, while also showing them mine. That’s what most people could do, while also getting their point across.
People online may feel like they can say anything and not get in any trouble for it, or their confidence may rise because they’re not speaking face to face. In many cases, that is true, and that is bad if said person online is using their anonymity to tell people that what they think, or feel, or believe in is wrong and then even going as far as telling the person they’re speaking to that they are stupid for what they believe in, and sometimes even telling the other person to kill themselves.
That is not cool.
Nobody should be telling anyone to kill themselves for what they think, or do, or say. I get that some things people do are bad, and the people doing or saying bad things should be punished or reprimanded for that, but suicide and death should never be the answer to a problem.
Respect needs to make its way into the world.
So many battles can be avoided if people just respected that not everyone is like them. No matter if it’s because of someone’s race, gender, age, sexuality, belief, likes, dislikes, parents, job, housing situation, financial situation, etc.
Respect others, even if you can’t respect what they may believe in, dislike, like, etc. Respect everyone you meet. They are a person just like you, and if what the like, dislike, believe in, etc, makes them happy, and is keeping them from doing anything bad, like suicide, that does not give you the right to tell them to kill themselves.
Even if someone can’t respect what someone thinks, feels, or believes in, they should still respect them as a person. No matter what.

Respect everyone
For Everyone is a person
Just like you and me

The Devil's Got Nothing On You

The Devil’s Got Nothing On You
I assume that most, if not everyone knows who the Devil is, or is at least familiar with his name, or names. Even if some don’t believe in God, they may have heard of the Devil, and if someone believes in God, they should be very well aware of Satan.
Well, whatever someone believes or doesn’t believe, the Devil has nothing on them, and nothing on you. If you really think about it, the Devil has no power over you, only the ability to lie.
Satan is the King of Lies, but it’s up to you whether or not to believe those lies.
The Devil has been portrayed in many movies, books, comic books and so forth to have lots of power, but is that really true?
I think not. Satan was once an angel, and I don’t know the full extent of an angels power, but my assumption is that, unless God gives them the power, they can’t create or destroy, but I don’t know, that’s just my thought.
So since Satan was once an angel, he probably doesn’t have all the power some movies and books give him. Only the power to lie to us. So in a sense, he can destroy some things, within a person. Such as trust, or the ability to see right from wrong, at least temporarily, but he can only destroy things within us if we let him. Which is why we need to all seek the truth, so we can see the lies.
For some people that may be difficult, to find the truth, but the good ol’ Bible is a big book of truth, although some would disagree, and those who disagree may not believe that the Devil exists, but before those people can guard themselves against the Devil, they need to come to Christ, but that’s a whole other topic.
Yes, the truth may be hard to find, or accept for some people, but once someone finds the truth, they will be able to see any lie light up like a neon sign.
Of course, being humans, we may not always be truthful ourselves, but that is the Beast, feeding you the rotten things that may have led you to lie in the first place, which just loops back around to seeking the truth, so you can see the lies, in the world, in others, and even in yourself.
The Devil can only lie, he cannot move mountains, or create life, or forcefully make you or anyone else do anything. He will lie, and it is your choice whether to believe those lies or not.

Read the truth
So that you may see the lies
Share the truth

So that the King of Lies does not rule

Our Earth

Our Earth
Earth. Our home. It’s a very nice place once you take a good look at it. Water, sunlight, food, oxygen, Earth has it all. Yet it’s the only one we have right now, and everyone who lives on it should come to the realization that we should make an effort to keep our home clean, and livable.
For example, recycling, using solar energy for homes, cleaning out the trash in oceans, rivers, etc. Not flushing as much, or taking shorter showers to save water.
Many people do do these things, but it would be so much more awesome if everyone could. Now I know that it may not be possible for everyone to do these things, but for those who can, they should do it. They should help as much as they can, because who knows? Maybe our Earth is coming close to it’s end.
Depending on what you may or may not believe, Earth will eventually end, through global climate change, us not conserving as much as we should, or the Apocalypse, the Second Coming, whatever it may be, for good or bad, Earth will end, but for right now we as mankind can do things to help it to make living for all of us better.
For those already doing it, making the world a better place to live in, a healthier place to live in, thank you, you unsung heroes.
Even you, reading right now could help, just by turning the light off in a room when you leave, (if no one is in it, of course) flushing only when it’s absolutely necessary, or even just opening a window instead of turning on the AC.
So many things that you could do. A bunch of little things can make a big impact, sort of like gears in a clock. They’re all little things, but make a bigger thing happen, i.e move the hands on the clock.
We could all do that, and not even just for the Earth, but for other people as well.
(I apologize that this blog is so short)

Notice: A chapter-by-chapter series for a full book may begin next week or in two weeks, so stay tuned!

Not All Heroes Wear A Cape

Not All Heroes Wear Capes
There are the hashtags “notallheroeswearcapes” and “notallheroeswearacape” that you may or may not have heard of or seen. While sometimes this hashtag is used for things not quite relating to it, it rings some truth. Not all heroes wear a cape or capes, meaning not all heroes set out to be heroes, or is someone you might not expect to be a hero.
There are over 7 billion people on Earth as of right now, and several of those people do what they need to get by, but many of those people do what they need to help others, whether it’d be because of their job, or their personality, or morals, these people are the unsung heroes. The ones that don’t wear capes, and to be honest, don’t need to, yet it’d be great if they could be recognised more often.
I’m talking about the doctors, nurses, therapists, firefighters, blood donors, organ donors, teachers, garbage disposal workers, charity donors, missionaries, clothes makers, police, and so many more, that do things people as a whole may not think about often.
Even though it may just be their job, or something they feel obliged to do, we can still acknowledge their work, what they do for the greater good.
Even if it was just a one time thing, they still contributed to making the world a better place, for all people, or for one person, or a group of people.
Everyone could be a hero at some point in their lives, if everyone just took time out of their own lives to help others, it would allow an experience of self-accomplishment and kindness. Something to take with them for the rest of their lives.
Yet, for those who are already heroes, or have done a heroic deed, they already have that experience, or have that experience many times. So many more people could feel that, and so many people may want to do great things, helpful things, kind things, whatever it is, but sometimes, there are obstacles in the way.
Such as age, finances, influential friends or family, etc.
Even if some people can’t be the heroes they want to be, just thinking about it is good, even if a person feels as if they’re doing nothing.
But, back to the people who are already heroes, they should be thanked for all they do, for what they may or may not sacrifice for people (or animals) other than themselves.
For example, Christ Jesus is a great person/ hero for dying, probably painfully, on a wooden cross for all of mankind's sins, if you do indeed believe in Him.
Now, I’m not sure if anyone today would die for all mankind, but to be a hero, you don’t necessarily have to sacrifice your life, just your time.

We Can All be heroes
There Are Heroes Out There
Maybe You Can be A hero

War

War
War is when two or more countries, two or more people, or just a single person (battling oneself) are fighting over some dispute, or many disputes.
War is not a fun thing, often resulting in pain, even death.
Currently, the world is teetering on the edge of WW3, but there has also been a war involving ISIS in the Middle East for a few years now. Many have lost their lives, and it doesn’t matter what side a person was on, death is unfortunate, but depending on beliefs, fortunate.
There are many people who advocate for peace on Earth, and I salute them, but war is inevitable. There are too many people in the world with different views, ideas, and beliefs for us all to just get along, which is why people with similar beliefs and views tend to stick with their own, but for those few in the world who can see past beliefs and opinions, good on ya’.
The world is kind of like a salad, in a sense. (Thank you 8th grade history teacher) Everything is it’s own thing, but mixed in with other things, yet living together if that makes sense, and some things get along, while others don’t. (But chef salad is great, if you haven’t tried it you should, unless you're on an all meat diet)
Some people get along, and some don’t, which is why wars between countries, and even people occur, most of the time, I believe.
It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt.
Wars between people are a bit more dangerous, in my opinion. While countries as a whole could recover fairly easily with the right resources and tools, a person could take a bit more to recover from hurt feelings and broken hearts. Ice cream and wine help, but aren’t a solution, I’m afraid. Yet, love relationships aren’t the only thing that can cause war between people.
There can be miscommunications, friends getting into a fight, simple strangers just having a bad exchange, eventually evolving into an even bigger problem.
War between people often end up in a big mess until it’s hopefully resolved.
War with oneself is very saddening and possibly causes the absolute most destruction, because no one knows a person better than themselves. Oneself knows their weaknesses, their innermost faults, mistakes, that they can use as weapons against themselves. To hurt themselves. To allow all the doubts to knock down the barrier protecting a person.
Usually when a person is at war with themselves, they’re fighting themselves against certain thoughts in their head, for example, suicide.
War, no matter who’s fighting it or why, it’s not very fun

Abuse Is No Ruse

Abuse Is No Ruse

Abuse is exactly what it sounds like. It’s harming or being harmed physically, sexually, or emotionally. There’s even Relationship Abuse. Abuse can happen to anyone, and anyone can be an abuser,  but whether someone is the abuser or being abused, it’s all very bad. It’s sickening even.
The most recognised abuse would probably be child abuse, where children are abused, by their parents or guardians. Very bad.
People have reasons, inexcusable, bad reasons, to abuse children, although some mental illnesses can be a factor for an abuser.
But for those who do not suffer any mental illness, their reasons for abuse are not okay.
Whether they think the abusee is annoying, or worthless, or the abuser just plain doesn’t care for them, whatever the reason, abuse is wrong. No matter what kind it is.
Physical abuse is where abuse is happening on the body. For example, hitting, punching, slapping, kicking, etc.
Sexual abuse is where someone is sexually abusing, or being sexually abused. For example, being touched in otherwise private areas on the body.
Emotional abuse is mainly directed at someone's view on themselves. Such as, an abuser may call the abusee “terrible, worthless, unloved, or stupid.” Making the abusee believe themselves less than human, in a sense.
Relationship abuse is a bit different. This kind of abuse can include all of the types of abuse, but is basically where someone in a relationship is abusing the other person in a relationship.
All of this is bad, wrong, and downright inhumane.
Even if the abuser thinks the abusee deserves being abused that does not make it okay, because even someone is a horrible person, they shouldn’t be abused.
Although, the really bad thing about abuse, besides just being a thing, is that you don’t see it a lot in the news, or hear about it all that much. It probably happens a lot, when you think about it, although there are some stories about abuse here and there, yet is the public getting all of it? Every story? Every detail on a story published?
Maybe and maybe not.

Now, abusers with a mental illness are a different deal. Someone with a mental illness may not realize that they’re abusing, or don’t recognise it as abuse, and people should do things to help. There are things people do to help mentally ill people, yes, but specifically for abusers with mental illnesses. People could possibly develop ways to help those with mental illnesses recognise what they’re doing.
Of course, it may not work for everyone, but for those who it will work for should definitely be helped.

Abuse is altogether wrong, evil, and just plain bad. It shouldn’t be a thing, but it is, yet with all the people in the world, how many are making an effort to stop it? A few, but definitely not as much people who could.

Kids, Thank Your School Staff

Kids, Thank Your School Staff
When I say school staff, I don’t just mean the the teachers. I’m talking about (including the teachers) the lunch staff, those who work in the main office, the janitors, and even the student services, if your school has student services, and even the bus drivers I would assume every school district has.
They do so much for us.
Now, kids, quiet your grumbling, and cease complaining.
Do you know who calls the shots for snow days? If you live in an area that receives snow? The superintendent, and how does the superintendent decide? They call up the head of the bus department, sometimes around 2 or 3 in the morning, and converse about whether or not it’s okay for the buses to drive in the snow. When there’s a snow day, and everyone stays home, you’re real happy right? (If you get snow days of course) Well, you’re also safe.
The janitors clean everyday, making sure the students are working in a clean environment, decreasing the chances of illness in the school.
The lunch staff feeds you. They make sure they have enough food to feed every student. Now sometimes, a student may not get what they wanted for lunch, and that will happen, but most of the time, a student will get what they desire for food.
Student services, which is the nurse, sociology worker, etc, are exactly what they say they are, and they do their best to make your school year bearable, whether it’d be the nurse giving you medicine, or just having someone to talk to about your problems, if you indeed have some. That’s their job.
Teachers do much.
They come to school everyday, even when they know there are students they really don’t want to deal with, or they woke up late and are very, very tired or sleepy because they couldn’t grab a cup of coffee.
I don’t know what teachers get paid, but it’s not enough. When projects are handed out, some students grumble about doing it, but just think of the teacher who has to grade all of those projects. Huge time consumer, depending on the project, and grade level the students are in, but it’s still something the teacher has to do.

Thank your school staff.
When all's said and done, you’ll be thankful for that tough assignment in 9th grade, or that long and boring lesson in 6th grade.
You’ll be thankful for having a clean space to work in, and you’ll be thankful for looking forward to that much anticipated lunch break.
Say Thank You
